Life has been busy, noisy and a little chaotic lately—but in the middle of it all, I’ve been reminded just how far our kids have come. Watching Lincoln step into his role as big brother has been one of the greatest joys. From crawling beside Hope so she can “race,” to helping her practise walking and singing songs she loves, his patience and love are simply beautiful. The bond between siblings may look different at times, but it is powerful, natural and full of heart.

Did you know 36% of children with Down syndrome have some hearing loss? Hope’s hearing journey involved confusing test results, missed details, and ultimately grommets — but it also showed us the importance of speech therapists who fight for our children. Their care and advocacy made all the difference in helping Hope hear clearly and continue her speech development.
When Hope started physiotherapy as a baby, I didn’t fully understand why it needed to begin so early. I was focused on the “right now,” not the bigger picture. This is our journey through muscle tone, milestone charts, tough assessment results, and learning that steady progress — even when it feels slow — is still something worth celebrating.

For Hope, starting therapy as an infant has helped her understand directions, make sounds, learn simple signs, and even improve her feeding. While she’s not talking yet, every smile, gesture, and sound is progress. Early intervention gives her the best opportunity to thrive, and every day she surprises us with what she can do.
