A poem from the perspective of 5-year old Hope. With a longing to join in but struggling to keep up with her peers. With feelings of loneliness, hope, and the joy of inclusion when someone reaches out. A touching reminder of the power of friendship and kindness.

Get To Know Hope…
Today’s blog is a short one. I have a couple of ideas planned but it’s been a crazy week and I’m exhausted. Alexander has been home unwell all week. After 2 doctors trips we discovered he not only had a cold, he had viral conjunctivitis, an ear infection and possibly a slight throat infection. You wouldn’t know it though if it wasn’t for the runny nose, the red eyes and the non-stop cough through the night. He still has as much energy as ever. On Thursday, Hope decided to join her brother and woke up with a gunky eye. So Hope joined us on our 2nd doctors visit and discovered she had bacterial conjunctivitis and the usual cold symptoms. With all that, no sleep plus my usual work, I’m sure the exhaustion is understood. So here we are, blog writing time, and I’m ready for bed. I still wanted to write something so here is… Get To Know Hope: 10 Random Things About Hope You May Or May Not Know.
